Key Investor Information Document (KIID)

The introduction of UCITS IV KIID is a major milestone. The KIID, which became a legal requirement on July 1, 2011, gives potential investors an overview of the key features of all UCITS investment products. It aims to level the playing field, enabling effective product comparisons and more informed decision making.

All investment companies selling funds within EU member states must now produce a KIID written in the local language of each country in which the fund is sold. Each KIID must be updated regularly to ensure accuracy.

The KIID addresses market needs as it offers standardization, uniformity and transparency through common processes, materials and presentation. Although the KIID is a pre-contractual legal document, it can also be used as a marketing tool.
